SBYSF Practices Cancelled (12/12 - 12/15)

Team SB,

We are very sorry to announce that all SBYSF practices will be cancelled until further notice.

This includes Saturday's Hot Chocolate.

We are unclear at the moment about the SBYSF Winter Series on Sunday.  For the moment, consider this event as still running.

With SB Unified School District closed, SBYC closed through Wednesday, and continually decreasing air quality, we will suspend classes until further notice.

We hope everyone stays safe in this tough time for the SB community.

Best,

Nick

SBHS Sailor, Caden Scheiblauer finishes 6th @ ISSA Singlehanded Nationals!

We are extending a big congratulations to Team SBYSF and SBHS Sailing Team Member, Caden Scheiblauer for placing 6th/18 at the High School Singlehanded Nationals!

The Singlehanded Nationals, commonly known as the Cressy Trophy took place in St. Petersburg, FL over Halloween Weekend.  18 of the top Laser sailors in the country qualified to represent their schools, home clubs, and themselves.

We were greeted to an abnormal weather pattern in St. Petes.  The tail end of a tropical depression passed through on day one of racing.  This brought a dying Easterly wind and rain on Saturday morning.  Race committee managed two races before the wind called it quits.  Sailors were sent back to shore to await further announcements.  At 1500, R/C called the day sighting a great forecast for day 2.

Day 2 saw a spot on forecast as a cold front wrapped in from the West.  Sailors were greeted to 18-23 knots at 0900, building to 25-32 knots by 1400!  R/C did a phenomenal job of sailing 11 races over 8 hours!
